South Fork Commuter Connection
The South Fork Commuter Connection (SFCC) is a coordinated rail and bus system created to operate during peak commuting hours, in order to provide workers with a public transportation option to travel.
This service operates Monday through Friday year round, except for major legal holidays and Fridays during the summer.
The service offers local LIRR trips, stopping in Speonk, Westhampton, Hampton Bays, Southampton Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Amagansett and Montauk.
Commuters west of the canal are encouraged to park at an LIRR station west of the canal, then ride the train to their destination east of the canal. At the stations east of the canal, ‘last mile’ shuttle services will bring riders to the villages, hamlets and employment centers. Late afternoon bus and train service will return riders to their stations of origin.
Currently, the LIRR fare is $4.25 each way, which includes the train ride and local ‘last mile’ shuttle services. Effective January 13th, 2020 the fare will be reduced to $3.25 each way, including use of the local ‘last mile’ shuttle service.

Trips highlighted with the SFCC designation will offer connecting ‘last mile’ shuttle services.
Please note that the enhanced LIRR schedule now offers many trips in addition to the SFCC focused trips.
‘LAST MILE’ CONNECTING SHUTTLE SERVICE:
As detailed on the tabbed links, destinations and schedules vary by station, so please review this information. Shuttle schedules and routes are flexible and subject to change based on demand, time of the year and traffic conditions. Planned shuttle service changes will be flagged and posted in advance.
Effective January 13th, 2020, there will be no charge for riding on the ‘last mile’ bus shuttles; only the purchase of a regular Long Island Rail Road ticket for train travel will be needed to utilize both the train and bus. FARE & TICKETING INFORMATION:
Effective January 13th, 2020 the purchase of a regular Long Island Rail Road ticket is all that is needed to use both the train and connecting shuttle bus. The current LIRR fare is $3.25 for one-way travel in either direction between any points from Speonk to Montauk.
Effective January 13th, most riders will also now have the option to purchase their LIRR tickets via the following methods: vending machines at stations; via the MTA eTix app; and via mail. Speonk riders please note: In order to take advantage of the $3.25 reduced fare on South Fork Commuter Connection trips, those travelling to or from Speonk should continue to purchase individual tickets at station vending machines utilizing the “Deals & Getaways” ticket purchase process.

PARKING WEST OF THE CANAL:
There is plenty of free parking at the Speonk and Westhampton train station lots for commuters. Free parking is also available in Hampton Bays along Good Ground Rd. adjacent to the HB train station; and the Town is creating additional parking adjacent to the railroad off of Ponquogue Avenue. Please do not park in private and/or commercial parking lots near the station.
PARKING EAST OF THE CANAL:
Regulations are in place at most of the station parking lots east of the canal. If you are considering parking in one of these lots, please contact the municipality in which the lot is located for more information.
