LIRR Montauk Line Nov. 10-13 Service Announcement

On the weekend of November 10-13, the single Main Track between Speonk and Montauk will be out of service for approximately 52 hours to allow for completion and cutover of a new signal system. The Speonk to Montauk Signalization project will provide a new, modern signal system on the Montauk Branch between Speonk and Montauk, an area that is currently dark territory (un-signalized). This $79.1M project is funded by the MTA’s 2010-2014 Capital Program and with funding from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

During this weekend, bus service will be offered between Patchogue and Montauk:

  • Eastbound customers for stations Bellport through Montauk will board buses at Patchogue for service to their station, and can expect up to 29 minutes additional travel time.
  • Westbound customers from stations Montauk through Bellport will board buses at their station for Patchogue where train service will resume. Westbound buses will depart up to 34 minutes earlier than normal train time to preserve train connections at Patchogue.
  • On Friday night, the 8:36pm and 11:35pm from Babylon will terminate at Patchogue. The 8:53pm eastbound train from Jamaica will terminate at Patchogue. The 9:59pm westbound train from Speonk and 10:38pm from Montauk will originate out of Patchogue.
