LIRR Temporary Road Closing Announcements


The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) strives to be a good neighbor to the communities where our service operates by keeping you informed of infrastructure improvements that promote safety and reliability. In response to community concern and to complete work prior to the cold weather, grade crossing repaving is scheduled on the LIRR's Montauk Branch in Southampton:


SOUTHAMPTON GRADE CROSSING REPAVING:

Wednesday, November 15, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Moses Lane Grade Crossing will be permanently repaved and closed to road traffic.
  • During those hours vehicles will use Tuckahoe Road or Magee Street for alternate access.

 

Thursday, November 16, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Tuckahoe Road Grade Crossing will be permanently repaved and closed to road traffic.
  • During those hours vehicles will use Moses Lane or Magee Street for alternate access.

 

Friday, November 17, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

  • Magee Street Grade Crossing will be permanently repaved and closed to road traffic.
  • During those hours vehicles will use Moses Lane or Tuckahoe Road for alternate access.

While the work is in progress, the LIRR and its contractor will provide the necessary flagmen and crossing protection. MTA Police will also be on hand to assist with local traffic control.
