    Join the Southampton Youth Bureau's Discovery Club and learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) through educational projects at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road! See how fruit can produce electricity, build a volcano and learn how they erupt, make a light bulb glow using a fidget spinner, and much more! Discovery Club is held on Mondays from September 21st - October 26th. Program is open to grades K - 4 from 5:15pm - 6:15pm and grades 5 - 8 from 6:45pm - 7:45pm. Program fee is $25/5 sessions.   6. Youth and Government

    Registration is now open for The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s “Youth and Government” program. Youth & Government is sponsored by the Alliance of NYS YMCAs and is a national program that involves teens in state-organized, model-government programs. Students in grades 9 - 12 will have the opportunity to practice experiential civic engagement and learn about the democratic process. Youth will discuss and debate issues that affect citizens of New York State and will get a chance to attend the state conference with youth from across New York.

    The Southampton Youth Bureau's Girl Talk program is a safe place for young women in grades 5 - 8 to get together to discuss topics such as self-esteem, emotions, stress, coping, bullying, and gender stereotyping while also having fun with activities such as crafts, games, cooking, community service, and more! Girl Talk begins October 1, 2020 and is held on Thursdays from 5:00pm - 6:00pm at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Some meetings will be held virtually (schedule tba).     Join the Southampton Youth Bureau for a Book Character Costume Contest! To enter: 1) Follow @southamptonyb on Instagram, 2) Upload a picture in your costume and use the hashtag #SHYBBookCharacterCostumeContest in your entry post, and 3) Tag @southamptonyb with a brief description of your book character costume. Entry deadline is Friday, October 30th. Contest is open to grades K – 12 and prizes will be awarded to elementary, middle, and high school age winners.
