The Southampton Youth Bureau's Chess Club meets every Tuesday at the Drop Spot, 655 Flanders Rd from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. Students are taught to challenge themselves, build self confidence, meet new friends, reduce stress, and learn strategy & discipline through the game of Chess. This program is free and open to grades K - 12.

If you are in grades 7th through 12th and interested in planning trips and events, doing community service projects, and making friends with students from other schools, then sign up for YAC! The Southampton Youth Bureau is looking for new members to join its Youth Advisory Committee, (YAC) for 2018 – 2019. As a YAC member, you can help make a difference in your community. Community service projects may include leaf raking for senior citizens, hosting a blood drive, meeting with elected officials in Albany for youth causes, participating in a sticker shock alcohol awareness campaign, or other activities that can make a difference in our community. YAC is a great way to get involved and to earn community service credit hours during the school year. Meetings are held every other Tuesday beginning September 25th 2018 at the Hampton Bays Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Ave, 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Transportation is available upon request. The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau is now accepting registrations for Act TWO. Act TWO is a teen theater group that uses drama games and acting in investigating and problem solving. Students will learn using Crime Scene Investigating techniques in how to identify and resolve problems through improvisation, role playing, and group discussion. Skits are created and performed by students in 7th – 12th grade for other youth audiences. Classes are held on Thursdays beginning September 13, 2018 at the Hampton Bays Public Library, 52 Ponquogue Ave from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Registration is ongoing but required in advance. Unleash your inner Sherlock Holmes and learn how to be a detective! The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau is currently accepting applications for their Summer Spy Camp at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Each week we will learn how to be a detective through crafts, movies, puzzles, and weekly field trips to Escape Rooms, the beach, police department and much more! Program begins July 1st and ends August 22nd and will be held Monday – Thursday from 12:30pm – 5:00pm. Youth going into grades 5 - 8 are eligible to participate - Proof of grade is required. Camp registration fee is $575/8 weeks (Price includes cost of field trips, lunch and supplies). Registration fee will be $525 per child if enrolled by Friday, April 26th.
