The Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) was prepared to assess the impacts of recommended actions from the Hampton Bays Corridor Strategic Plan, a charrette-based project initiated in 2006 which focuses on improving the hamlet’s commercial corridor. Other, hamlet-wide, considerations were brought to the project in response to public comments received through the SEQRA scoping process, so that the DGEIS is being used as an opportunity to look at the hamlet comprehensively.
The links below provide access to both the Corridor Strategic Plan and its impact assessment in the DGEIS. The Map Set provides all of the analysis maps referenced in the DGEIS document. Printed copies of these materials may be accessed at the Hampton Bays Public Library and through the Southampton Town Clerk.
Comments and questions on the Hampton Bays Corridor Strategic Plan and DGEIS submitted below will be incorporated into the Final Generic Environment Impact Statement (FGEIS) for the project and may also be utilized in presentations and discussions at the upcoming public hearing on February 1, 2011. Lengthy written comments should be submitted to the Town Clerk.
