Mission & Responsibilities
The mission of Information Systems is to provide state of the art technical resources and support to fully realize the goal of increased productivity, and to empower Town employees to fully utilize technology for the acquisition, entry, maintenance, analysis and presentation of data.
Duties Include
- Analysis, planning and implementation of major computer software and hardware deployment and upgrades.
- Provide support, problem tracking, and problem resolution for all applications installed on the Town's network.
- Research, design, implement and maintain all facets of the Town's network and network backbone, including the procurement of state of the art equipment to keep the Town at the forefront of technology.
- Administration of remote sites utilizing the Town's computer equipment including the Police Department, the Department of Waste Management, Water District, Animal Control, Juvenile Aide, Office of Public Safety, Flanders and Bridgehampton Nutrition Centers, Highway Department, cooperating banks, and the Villages of Sag Harbor, Westhampton Beach, and North Haven.
- Administer the use, repair, and inventory of all computer equipment.
- Assist the Division of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) in the maintenance of hardware and software to support the Town's spatial data, and Geographical Information Systems website.
- Train Town personnel in the use of computer hardware and software applications.
- Support various departments with data management during their peak times.
