Mission & Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of the Town's Comprehensive Plan.
  • Prepare supporting studies and legislation to revise and update the Town's zoning.
  • Complete reports, studies, maps, plans and specifications at the directive of the Town Board.
  • Conduct SEQRA reviews for Town Board legislation.
  • Lead the implementation of zoning and subdivision regulations and other programs and projects pertaining to the Central Pine Barrens Plan, groundwater protection and farmland preservation.
  • Prepare and maintain base and related maps as they relate to planning studies, through the use of the Town's Geographic Information Systems.
  • Prepare conservation opportunity plans to implement long-range farmland preservation strategies.
  • Provide assistance and advise other Land Management Divisions and Other Town, County, State and Federal agencies.
