Eastern end of CR 39 to be closed between 7 pm and 5 am, March 12, 13, 14

The Suffolk County Department of Public Works has advised the Town that the eastern end of CR 39 near the
LIRR crossing will be closed between 7 pm and 5 am for the nights of March 12th, 13th and possibly March 14th.

Traffic will be rerouted as follows:
-Eastbound traffic will be directed to proceed south on David White’s Lane and then east on Hampton Rd.
-Westbound traffic from SR 27/Montauk Highway will be directed to continue on Hampton Rd. to David White’s Lane, where it will be directed north to re-enter CR 39.

This overnight closure is necessary due to work involving required safety upgrades at the LIRR crossing on CR 39.
These safety upgrades are being implemented by the LIRR in cooperation with SCDPW as part of the CR 39 widening project.

Anyone with questions may contact the Town Transportation & Traffic Safety Office at 283-5210.
