Eugene Robert Francolini (1930-2020) graduated from Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY and immediately joined the United States Navy. He served from 1948-1952, including two years in Japan during the Korean War. Upon his return to the US, he completed his undergraduate and law degree programs and set up a private law practice in Hampton Bays where he and his beloved wife, Theresa raised their four children, Gail (their obvious favorite), James, Carol, and Mary.
He continued his life of service by giving back to the community in a myriad of ways. He held leadership roles including President of the Hampton Bays Board of Education, President of the Hampton Bays Lions Club, founding member and director of Southampton Golf Club, and a member of the Southampton Elks Club. He was named an honorary member of the Hampton Bays Fire Department for his extensive pro bono work; and in 2014, Eugene received the honor of being named the grand marshal of the San Gennaro Feast of the Hamptons for his extraordinary dedication of service for over 50 years.
