A message from Chief James Kiernan:
In an effort to keep our communities safe and reduce motor vehicle crashes, Southampton Town Police will be extra vigilant in our efforts to reduce speed and dangerous driving throughout the township, especially on County Road 39 and in our residential areas. We are answering the community’s requests to increase vehicle and traffic enforcement. We hope these efforts will enhance safe travel along County Road 39 as well as protect the residents in our neighborhoods, especially during the school pick up and drop off hours. Expect to see increased vehicle and traffic enforcement efforts. We are asking for everyone’s cooperation with this initiative to help keep our roadways safe. Compliance with posted speed limits is always preferred over enforcement action.
