[ARCHIVED] Temporary Shellfish Closures areas have reopened as of September 9th.

Effective immediately, Thursday, September 9, 2021 the following areas can be re-opened to the harvest of shellfish, except as described in 6NYCRR, Part 41, “Sanitary Condition of Shellfish Lands.”

 Accordingly, the harvest of shellfish from the following areas is permitted:

  •  Town of Southampton: All the normally certified areas of Sag Harbor and its tributaries.
  •  Town of East Hampton: All the normally certified areas of Sag Harbor and Northwest Harbor. 
  •  Towns of Oyster Bay (north shore) and Huntington: All the normally certified areas of Oyster Bay Harbor and Cold Spring Harbor.

Note: All other areas that were designated as uncertified for the harvest of shellfish on September 2, 2021 remain closed for the harvest of shellfish.
