NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 Citizens’ Ideas Wanted for the 2022 Town of Southampton  Community Development Block Grant

The Town of Southampton, expects to receive approximately $250,000 in Federal Community Development Block Grant Funds.  These funds may be used, and have been previously used, for a variety of projects targeting income-qualified individuals and census tracts of low-moderate income areas. Citizens wishing to express their views on how this funding should be spent may speak at the public hearing and/or submit written comments for the record.

Eligible Activities Include:

● Economic Development     ● Physical barrier elimination for the disabled

● Public Service Activities    ● Housing rehabilitation

● Street improvements        ● Public facilities and improvements

Town of Southampton residents are invited to attend this public hearing on October 26, 2021 at 6:00 PM at Southampton Town Hall; 116 Hampton Road, Southampton, NY, to express citizens’ views on the local community development needs to be met with these funds.

FURTHER NOTICE: Due to public health and safety concerns related to Covid-19, the Southampton Town Board will not meet in person. In accordance with Chapter 417 of the Laws of 2021, the Town Board meeting will be held via videoconferencing and a transcript will be provided at a later date. The public will have an opportunity to see and hear the meeting live, and to provide comments. The public can watch the live meeting online from the Town of Southampton website southamptontownny.gov, via the Town Clerk’s meeting portal, via You Tube or through the Zoom app. Members of the public that would like to provide comments can call in during the meeting via telephone or Zoom; comments can also be emailed up to one hour before the start of the meeting to the Town Clerk: townclerk@southamptontownny.gov. The record will remain open after the public hearing for the submission of written comments. 

Applications for CDBG are available on the Housing and Community Development page of the Town web site at www.southamptontownny.gov or at the Town Hall Housing Office.  All proposals must be post marked no later than Friday, October 22, 2021.
