Please be advised that winter storms have caused significant sand movement and shoals in the vicinity of Towd Point at the northern end of North Sea Harbor with water levels reported to be 2 to 3 feet at mid tide. Over the past several months, the Town who oversees the Conscience Point Marina and the Trustee boat ramp that are located within the harbor, as well as other affected public and private entities have been requesting that the Suffolk County Department of Public Works perform an emergency spring dredge of this area.
We have been informed that this location is at the top of their list but, as they are still awaiting the approval of required permits from other agencies, it is likely that the work will not take place until the end of May/beginning of June provided there are no issues with nesting birds or other unforeseen circumstances.
