Councilman Rick Martel announced today that it is again time to register to participate in the Great East End Clean-Up, which will take place on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23.
The Great East End Clean-Up is a volunteer-based program to remove litter and debris from public areas throughout Southampton Town. Last year over 800 volunteers removed tons of garbage, metal, and tires that were sorted for recycling, from beaches, parks, trails, and roadsides.
“We’re very fortunate have so many people in our community come together to clean up our town,” said Councilman Martel. “We live in a special place and it really does make a difference.”
If you would like to participate, just select an area of public property such as a park, beach, trail, or roadside that is in need of cleaning and complete the registration form online, or return it by mail to the Great East End Clean-Up coordinator by Wednesday, April 19. Individuals as well as groups are welcome to sign up.
