Overnight Closure on Sunrise Highway (State Route 27) in the Towns of Brookhaven and Southampton, Suffolk County
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that westbound Sunrise Highway (State Route 27) will be closed between Exit 62 (Suffolk County Route 111/Captain Daniel Roe Highway) and Exit 61 (Suffolk County Route 51/East Moriches-Riverhead Road) in the towns of Brookhaven and Southampton, Suffolk County, on Wednesday, May 24, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. to facilitate pavement repairs, weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured onto the North Service Road.
Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
