The Town of Southampton, with participation from the Village of North Haven, is conducting informal public hearings to get feedback from the public on the developing plans and concepts of Lovelady Powell Park, located on Community Preservation Fund (CPF) purchased property at 19 Sunset Beach Road, in conjunction with the previously purchased CPF parcel at 257 Ferry Road in North Haven.
The public hearings will be held on Wednesday, August 16th at 6pm at Town Hall and Thursday, August 24th at 6pm at Village Hall in North Haven.
Councilman Schiavoni, who is spearheading the public hearings, stated “The Town of Southampton looks forward to the development of a beautiful passive park, connecting existing green space in the Village of North Haven.”
The North Haven properties were bought by the Town of Southampton with the intent of creating a park. Southampton Town and CPF want to see the proposed design and get feedback from the public. Southampton Town will then advise the Village on how to proceed based on the feedback they receive.
Once the park is built, North Haven Village, who has an intermunicipal agreement with the Town, will steward and build out the property.
Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni, Director of Community Preservation Jacqueline Fenlon, and Department of Community Preservation Assistant Town Attorney Daniel McCormick will be in attendance, along with Village representatives.
