The Southampton Town Affirmative Action Task Force (AATF) is seeking new members for 2024. Established in 2011, the AATF focuses its efforts on the Town’s hiring, supporting, and retaining of staff members from diverse sectors of the community, and periodically reviewing Town Affirmative Action policies and procedures, and making recommendations to the Town Board.
Some of the recent initiatives include bringing diversity training to our Town staff, offering free civil service test preparation classes, building relationships with high school guidance counselors to share job opportunities, and creating and implementing the first employee survey.
“As liaison to the Affirmative Action Task Force, I’m proud of the efforts that this committee has made to build diversity and inclusion in our workforce and our community,” said Councilman John Bouvier, liaison to the Task Force. “I strongly encourage community members to get involved.”
“I have been the Human Resources’ liaison to the Affirmative Action Task Force for just over 6 years now, and I’m very proud of all we’ve accomplished during that time,” said Juan Becerra, Affirmative Action Officer. “I look forward to continuing that work and I welcome new members to get involved.”
