Southampton Conducts Second Strategic Code Enforcement Sweep

November 27, 2017

The Town of Southampton Public Safety Division conducted a comprehensive code enforcement sweep in the Flanders/Riverside communities on Friday November 17, 2017.  Last month, the Public Safety Division conducted a similar enforcement operation in the Hampton Bays area.

Code Enforcement officers, fire marshals and animal control officers investigated 80 properties in the Flanders/Riverside communities, issued 24 notices of violation and 4 summonses for a broad range of violations including rental permit violations, property maintenance issues and illegal uses of residential properties.  Two related investigations are still underway.

Steven Troyd, Code Compliance and Public Safety Administrator, praised the staff for their collaboration and coordination of this latest effort.  “We have been in contact with the owners of these properties,” Mr. Troyd added, “and our officers will be following up to assure that the properties become compliant with Town code.”
