The Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) strives to be a good neighbor by keeping you informed of improvements that promote safety and reliability. To complete grade crossing rehabilitation and in response to community concern, repaving is scheduled on the LIRR's Montauk Branch in the following areas:
VILLAGE OF EAST HAMPTON - Thursday, March 28, from 7:00 AM through 4:30 PM
- King Street Grade Crossing will be permanently repaved and closed to road traffic.
- During those hours vehicles will use Race Lane for alternate access.
TOWN OF SOUTHAMPTON - Friday, March 29, from 7:00 AM through 4:30 PM
- Tuckahoe Lane Grade Crossing will be permanently repaved and closed to road traffic.
- During those hours vehicles will use Magee Street for alternate access.
While the work is in progress, the LIRR and MTA Police will be on site to facilitate safe traffic control.
