The summer concert series at Good Ground Park in Hampton Bays concluded with its best year yet with “PM Overdrive” on Thursday August 29th. Attendance was up and stayed consistent with each of the 9 concerts this year for the “Good Ground on Stage” concert series. Each band played to a crowd of 500 people or more.
The popularity of the outdoor sunken theater is fast becoming a crowd favorite to watch a concert and share a picnic with friends. The family friendly park is also helping merchants along Main Street on concert nights before and after the events.
“The Good Ground On Stage Series exceeded our expectations again this year,” said Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce President Dot Campuano. “Each concert brings both regulars and newbies to the Park and, by extension, to our Main Street restaurants and downtown merchants. The Park is doing exactly what was intended, serving as a destination right in the heart of Hampton Bays.”
The Town of Southampton is also most appreciative of the generosity and support of St. Rosalie’s Church which allows overflow parking in the Church parking lot off Squiretown Road.
