The Long Island Rail Road has announced several changes to their fall train service east of Southampton in order to make significant track improvements in the East Hampton area.
As a result, the South Fork Commuter Connection trains will only operate as far east as Southampton between October 15th and November 8th. SFCC train service between Speonk, Westhampton, Hampton Bays and Southampton will continue to operate as it currently does.
From Tuesday, October 15th through Friday November 8th, the Towns of Southampton and East Hampton will provide direct connection shuttles in lieu of train service for riders who travel to points east of the Southampton Railroad Station. beginning Tuesday, October 15th and continue to November 10th.
Passengers who normally travel to and from points east of Southampton on SFCC trips will board shuttle busses in Southampton to go east in the morning; the shuttles will continue to pick up westbound PM riders from the usual SFCC shuttle stops east of Southampton and bring them to the Southampton station to board the return train trips west. Hampton Jitney will continue to provide the shuttle services to/from Bridgehampton & Sag Harbor. Hampton Hopper will continue to provide the shuttle services to/from East Hampton, Amagansett and Montauk.
Some shuttles service schedules have been modified to reflect the change in service related to picking up and dropping off at the Southampton station. For detailed information on which shuttle schedules have been changed and their updated timetables, please go to www.SFCClirr.com
