Northwell Health honored the Town of Southampton at today’s Town Board Work Session with a Certificate of Recognition for becoming the first municipality on Long Island to provide a private lactation room for nursing moms when they return to work. The certificate proclaims that Southampton Town has successfully met New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines and is officially a breast feeding friendly community.
The Town has set up a private lactation room with a lock on the door for nursing moms when they return to work from maternity leave.
