The Southampton Town Board passed a resolution to hire Christine Scalera as a Deputy Town Attorney in January when she steps down from her Councilwoman position. Following two-four year terms as Councilwoman, Ms. Scalera was term limited. Before running for Town Council, she worked in the Southampton Town Attorney’s Office as a Deputy Town Attorney. Prior to that she worked in the Town Attorney’s office in Brookhaven Town as Chief Deputy Town Attorney.
“We know how talented Christine is as an Attorney and we want to keep her involved in protecting the Town of Southampton,” said Supervisor Jay Schneiderman. “She will be working closely with our Public Safety and Police Departments where she has great insight and experience. She will be a tremendous resource for the Town.”
“I’m happy to continue working for the people of Southampton,” said Councilwoman Scalera. “My interests have always been to assure our constituents we are protecting their environment, their neighborhoods and keeping the Town of Southampton the beautiful place they call home.”
Ms. Scalera begins her job at the beginning of January.
