On Saturday February 29th, the Southampton Town Affirmative Action Task Force, in conjunction with Eastern Suffolk BOCES, held a Free Civil Service Test Preparation workshop for the public at the Hampton Bays Senior Center. The four-hour class provided attendees with knowledge of the inner workings of the Suffolk County’s Department of Civil Service system, including how to navigate the Civil Service website, and how to prepare for and sign up for exams.
“This workshop is part of a larger effort to promote public service within our community,” said Councilman John Bouvier, liaison to the Task Force. “I was encouraged by the number of participants and the positive feedback we received. I look forward to continuing our efforts and hope for even more participation next time.”
This was the second in a series of test preparation workshops offered by the Town; the first workshop was held at the Shinnecock Indian Nation Community Center in July of 2019. The Town will hold another test preparation workshop within the next couple of months, so please stay tuned.
