The Town of Southampton has now opened attended beaches with lifeguards seven days a week. These beaches include, Ponquogue, Tiana, Pikes, Flying Point, Mecox, Scott Cameron, Sagg Main and Long Beach. But in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the beaches will be monitored for 50 percent beachfront capacity under New York State guidelines. The beaches are staffed with lifeguards and beach attendants and six feet distance rules and face mask requirements are in place to assure greater safety of our beach goers and our staff.
Permits are required at all beaches and access roads and can be purchased at the beaches or by mail in application available on line on the Town’s website, www.southamptontownny.gov No daily permits will be sold until further notice.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, beach goers should respect the CDC social distance guidelines of 6 feet. All patrons are expected to wear facial coverings and footwear on boardwalks and pavilions and in restrooms, and when within 6 feet of others. There should be no congregating in groups on the beach or pavilion areas, and no contact sports or sharing of sport equipment.
