Following on the State of Emergency that was declared by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo on August 5, 2020 in order to provide local governments with clean-up and operational support in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaias, Supervisor Jay Schneiderman has signed Emergency Order #15 of 2020, to assist residents in the aftermath of the damaging storm.

Specifically, the Order waives the brush fees to assist homeowners in the clean-up of vegetative debris created by Tropical Storm Isaias.  The Town of Southampton will waive fees for residential haulers ONLY for vegetative debris at the Town Transfer Stations located at North Sea, Hampton Bays and Westhampton effective as of 11:45 am today and through Sunday, August 9th at 3:30 pm.

Brush and leaves must be separated before disposal.  Brush shall be limited to less than 3” in diameter.  No landscapers or commercial haulers are included under this exemption.

If brush was dropped off between August 5th and the effective time and date of the Executive Order, reimbursement may be requested, following the procedures outlined in the Order.

For more information, contact the Waste Management Division at 631-283-5210.

This order is in effect as of 11:45 am on August 6, 2020 through August 9, 2020 at 3:30pm.
