Throughout the month of November, Councilwoman Julie Lofstad and the Southampton Youth Board will recognize local adult and youth volunteers who have gone above and beyond to help our local youth. Due to gathering restrictions related to COVID-19, the volunteers will be honored virtually during the month of November on the Youth Bureau’s website, via social media and officially by Councilwoman Lofstad, who will recognize each volunteer at Town Board Work Sessions throughout the month.
“Congratulations to all the outstanding volunteers who have put others ahead of self. Your commitment to the youth of our Town is recognized and appreciated,” said Councilwoman Lofstad. “Our community is lucky to have all of you.”
All of the individuals being honored have been nominated by agencies who are on the front lines of providing positive youth development services in Southampton. Not only do these agencies, and their representatives who submitted these nominations, value these volunteers, the community does too.
“We are so pleased to honor those who have given so much of themselves to support young people in our community and who create a caring environment for youth to thrive,” said Nancy Lynott, Southampton Youth Bureau Director. “These volunteers set a powerful example for all of us to follow.”
These individuals are deserving of our thanks and recognition. For more information on each recipient please visit: http://www.southamptontownny.gov/1457/Volunteer-Recognition-Month
