Learn how to grow oysters as part of an established East End oyster restoration initiative administered by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Receive gear, training and 1000 oysters that will help you on your way to becoming a proficient Aquaculturalist. Workshops will include life history, culture techniques, culinary tips, maintenance of gardens and all of the things you always wanted to know about shellfish but were afraid to ask. Kim will be at Tiana most Tuesdays from 8am-12pm to assist throughout the summer and fall.
If you have been previously in this program, you must register for this program again to keep your oysters at this location. If you would like to finish growing your oysters, you can do so at the marine center in Southold.
Participants must be prepared to get wet and somewhat fouled. Material Cost $20 at site.

Come learn how to play Pickleball at Hampton West Tennis CourtsThis exciting game that uses many of the tennis skills on a smaller court. It is the answer to a low impact high energy game for singles and or doubles play. Participants must bring their own paddle to class. No experience necessary, beginners welcome.

Creative Arts Contest - The Youth Bureau is now accepting submissions for their Creative Arts Contest! This year’s theme is “New Beginnings”. Artists are encouraged to share their interpretation through art of what a new beginning could look like. The contest is open to students in grades 5 – 12 who reside or attend school in the Town of Southampton. Artwork will be judged on quality, creativity, and presentation based on the artist’s interpretation of “New Beginnings”. All art entries (maximum of two entries per artist) must be dropped off at the Southampton Youth Bureau’s main office at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Rd by Friday, April 1st. Participating artists are invited to bring their families and friends to the final exhibit at the Parrish Art Museum, 279 Montauk Hwy on Friday, May 6th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Prizes will be awarded to the “Best Art Piece” in the categories of photography, graphic art, sculpture, and free-hand.
