Hello Friends of Honor Flight Long Island!
Our May 12 flight was GREAT despite the 3-hour delay on the return to Islip where, at 2:30 am our Veterans were greeted with the remaining 200 well-wishers, family members and friends of Honor Flight Long Island. Thanks for hanging in!!!
Please follow the links below to see some of the May 12 flight highlights put together by our board member Jim Kenny.

So many of you have asked how can we help? Well now we have a specific request. We‘d like to have a volunteer assist / manage our social media and website to keep things up to date. If this is something you’re willing to do email your ideas and capabilities to Vee Bennett at email@example.com
Have a Safe Summer and help us spread the word that HFLI is still looking for WWII and Korean War Veterans and that now we are accepting applications for Vietnam Veterans with flights expected to begin for them in 2019.
Honor Flight Long Island (HFLI) www.honorflightlongisland.org, is a volunteer, 501c (3) organization that escorts WWII, Korean War and soon to include Vietnam Veterans on a one day round trip to visit their memorial in Washington DC – with absolutely no cost to them. This trip includes a Guardian chaperone for each Veteran, a wheelchair, airfare, deluxe bus service, snack bag, box lunch, dinner, commemorative t-shirt and a personalized tribute/photo journal presented during a post-flight reunion. Veterans’ flights are funded solely from tax deductible donations from generous organizations and individuals. Guardians who assist the Veterans during the day are asked to contribute a suggested $400 donation that is applied to their expenses.
