Honor Flight Long Island

Friends of Honor Flight Long Island

We complete our flights with the support of many people across Long Island. One of our key supporters, Dan Desimone of Continued Care has supplied 50 wheelchairs for our dear veterans for every flight since 2011. We LOVE Dan and his family and will be forever grateful for his HUGE HELP. But Dan’s life has changed. We wish the VERY BEST for him and his family and will always remember and treasure his great generosity and kindness and hope it all circles back to him because he absolutely deserves the BEST that life can bring.
But now we need new help securing wheelchairs. So we’re reaching out to you who are able to network
across Long Island to help us secure the wheelchairs that we’ll need for our May 11, 2019 flight.
We could use our flight funds to purchase 50
wheelchairs at about $100 each, but then we’ll also need storage and transportation to and from the airport. Maybe we can rent them.
See what I mean about Dan... he arranged all of that for us!!
Our next flight will have approximately 12 WWII Veterans and 38 Korean War Veterans. We can’t fly without the wheelchairs.
If you have any suggestions or big ideas, please share them with us by responding to this email using the subject line WHEELCHAIRS.

In the meantime, we’ll be working on it from our end too, but we just can’t get by without a little help from our friends.
