AUDITIONS TONIGHT: Friday, January 25th

6th Annual Hamptons Got Talent;

at Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road from 4:30pm – 6:30pm. Open to students in grades 5 – 12, who reside and/or attend school in Southampton Town. Solo artists, bands, dance groups, poets, magicians, comedians, and other artistic acts are encouraged to audition. Can’t make it out tonight? Come on out on Monday, February 4th to the Flanders Community Center from 4:30pm – 6:30pm for our second audition! Finalists selected will perform in the 6th Annual Hamptons Got Talent competition which is scheduled for Saturday, April 6th in the auditorium at Hampton Bays High School, 88 East Argonne Road. Video Game Tournament -

The Southampton Youth Bureau and the Hampton Bays Library Teen Center will be hosting a Video Game Tournament on Saturday, February 2nd at the Hampton Bays Public Library, 52 Ponquogue Ave. Registration begins at 10:30am and the tournament will start at 11:00am SHARP. Pre-registration is $5 by Friday, February 1st or $10 at the door. The tournament will include games such as NBA Blacktop 2K19, Injustice 2, Just Dance 2019, Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Gran Turismo Sport, Mortal Kombat XL, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, and Mario Kart 8. Tournament is open to grades 5 – 12 and participants will be divided into middle and high school brackets. Winners in each bracket will be entered to win a Nintendo Switch gaming console, courtesy of the Hampton Bays Public Library. Additional prizes will also be awarded in each bracket. All participants who wish to play M rated games must have a permission slip signed by a parent/guardian. Transportation is available from the Westhampton Free Library (must call for a reservation by January 25, 2019). Open Mic Night at Hampton Coffee Company

The Southampton Youth Bureau will be hosting their next Open Mic Night on Friday, February 15th from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Hampton Coffee Company, 749 County Rd 39 in Southampton. Performing is free and open to youth in grades 5–12. Acoustic solo artists & bands, karaoke, poetry/spoken word, and comedic acts are all welcome to participate. Creative Arts Contest: Mental Health Awareness 

Mental health issues are a common part of our lives. The Southampton Youth Bureau’s getting the conversation started about Mental Health through this year’s Creative Arts Contest. The contest is open to students in grades 5 – 12 who reside or attend school in the Town of Southampton. Art work will be judged on quality, creativity, and presentation based on the artist’s portrayal of “Mental Health Awareness”. All art entries (maximum of two entries per artist) must be dropped off at the Southampton Youth Bureau’s main office at the Flanders Community Center, 655 Flanders Rd or at the Citizens’ Response Center in Southampton Town Hall, 116 Hampton Road by Tuesday, April 30th. Participating artists are invited to bring their families and friends to the final exhibit at the Watermill Center, 39 Water Mill Towd Rd on Wednesday, May 15th from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Prizes will be awarded to the “Best Art Piece” in the categories of photography, graphic art, sculpture, and free-hand. Light refreshments will be served.
