Dear Regional Carter:

The Town of Southampton has been progressing goals towards more responsible waste management practices and regulatory compliance with New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Town has made several attempts to engage carters working within the Town of Southampton as we formed and modified the old code. The Town has adopted code revisions to the Local Law Code Chapter 205 (Waste Management) and are moving forward with implementation of the permit and tracking of Carters as outlined in 205-6.

Please find attached for your review and action the following:

  1. Adopted Town Code Chapter 205(Waste Management)
  2. Adopted Fee Schedule for Permitted Carters (TBR 2018-782)
The new program shall begin to take effect February 11, 2019 and will begin enforcement of the code beginning April 29, 2019 with a grace period of 2 months. We strongly encourage you to take the opportunity to review the enclosed documentation and apply early so that your firm will be in full compliance with this program.
