Southampton Animal Control is located at 27 Ponquogue Ave, Hampton Bays, NY 11946 . You can call Southampton Animal Control at 631-702-2915 or fax 631-728-3688 or email us. Animal Control officers are on duty 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding national holidays.

Animal Control does not pick up stray cats, but tame cats may be brought to the animal shelter to allow their owners to reclaim them or for evaluation and adoption. Please call the shelter at 631-728-7387 before bringing in stray cats.Public Safety - Animal Control

The Southampton Town Code states that it is unlawful for any dog or other domestic animal to be at large. “At large” is defined as any animal that is unleashed and on property open to the public or is on private property not owned or leased by the owner of the animal, unless permission for such presence has been obtained.Public Safety - Animal Control

Feral cats are the offspring of domestic cats that have not been socialized. Animal Control does not pick up feral cats and the shelter does not accept them. The Southampton Animal Shelter offers support to residents of the Town through their AdvoCat Program which includes trapping, spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations and releasing . Southampton Animal Control does not handle wildlife. Southampton residents can contact the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center at 631-728-WILD (728-9453) for assistance.

The Animal Shelter is open 7-days-a-week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, it is closed on the following holidays:

- Easter
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day

- Closed 1/2 day Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

The shelter has many dogs and cats that are available for adoption. They occasionally get other animals like rabbits, hamsters, birds and reptiles. All of the shelter’s available animals can be viewed on the shelter website.

The shelter does have a veterinary clinic on site. They offer low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, wellness exams, dental cleanings and microchipping.. You can contact the clinic at 631-728-7387, ext. 226 for more information.
