  • Permits may be purchased online or in person at office locations.  Please DO NOT mail in applications. Please purchase permits online using this link: online beach permits. Permits will also be sold at Parks & Recreation Dept., 6 Newtown Road, Hampton Bays, NY 11946

  • There is no limit. You pay per vehicle. Only vehicles registered to homeowners on the tax bill or vehicles registered to a physical Southampton Town address are entitled to purchase residential beach permits.

  • Beaches will open Memorial Day Weekend and remain open on weekends through the month of June. Beginning July 1, all Town beaches will open daily and remain in operation through Labor Day, weather permitting.

  •  New homeowners must provide a copy of the deed from the closing or a current tax bill. The name of the purchaser must be the same name on the vehicle registration.

  • You can prove residency by providing a current Southampton Town Tax bill or if a year round renter with a local PO Box: you will need to show 2 proofs residency, i.e. electric or cable bils ( 1mo, 6mo, and 12mo) ,or drivers license with local street address, or voter registration to local address, or current W-2.

  • Beach permits are for parking purpose only. Anyone can get dropped off, ride their bicycle or walk onto the beach at no charge.  The beach is free.

  • The Town of Southampton now offers a Passport Mobile Pay Parking App at the following locations:

    Pikes (Westhampton), Ponquogue (Hampton Bay), Flying Point (Southampton), Hot Dog Beach (East Quogue), Tiana Beach (East Quogue), Foster Memorial Beach (Noyac), Mecox Beach (Bridgehampton), and Sagg Main Beach (Sagaponack). Please download the app prior to attending one of these locations BUT do not purchase a permit until at the location and confirming parking availability. NO REFUNDS GIVEN.

    Download the Passport app in advance, but refrain from making a purchase until you arrive to guarantee a parking space.

  • This does not affect Full Season permit holders.  However, if you are not a Full Season permit holder and wish to park at one of our beaches, please visit https://www.southamptontownny.gov/355/Beach-Parking-Permit for information on Daily Permits.

  • When using the app, customers must enter their license plate number as part of the transaction.  When the transaction is complete, the customer’s plate number is entered onto the “valid” list which verifies daily parking permit was purchased.

  • In the lots where Passport Mobile Pay is offered, the plates of parked cars will be scanned by enforcement vehicles.  Plate numbers that are not found to be on the “valid” list will be ticketed.

  • If a plate does not come up as “valid,” the officer will check for a valid permit decal and other authorized permits before ticketing.
