    Youth Court is a great way to earn community service credits and build your college resume! High school students from local schools work together to hold real trials for juvenile offenders, where all the facts of the case are heard and the jury decides on a disposition, or “sentence”, for the offender to repair the harm that they have caused to the victims. Students in grades 9 - 12 living or attending school in the Town of Southampton can participate. Those who are interested in becoming an attorney, improving public speaking skills, learning about the justice system, building their college/job resume or just enjoy community service are invited to join. General youth court meetings are held from 6:00pm – 7:30pm at the Southampton Town Justice Court, 32 Jackson Ave – Transportation may be available upon request.     The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau and Peconic Ballet Theatre will be hosting Dance with Project LEAP (Learn, Empower, Achieve, Perform) every Thursday from 4:30pm – 6:00pm (March 16th – June 15th) at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Class will not be held on April 13th. Professional dance instructors from the Peconic Ballet Theatre will teach Hip Hop and Ballet while encouraging exercise, confidence building, creativity, and having fun! Previous experience is not necessary to join. Dance with Project LEAP is open to grades 1 - 6 and the cost to attend is $125 for the entire session. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.     Band applications are now available for the Southampton Youth Bureau’s 20th Anniversary Battle of the Bands. This year’s competition will be held on Friday, June 9th (Rain Date: Friday, June 16th) from 8:00pm – 11:00pm at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays. All applications and demo music must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, May 12th 2023 and can be sent or dropped off to:
