Youth Bureau

  1. Youth and Government

    Registration is now open for The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau’s “Youth and Government” program. Youth & Government is sponsored by the Alliance of NYS YMCAs and is a national program that involves teens in state-organized, model-government programs. Students in grades 9 - 12 will have the opportunity to practice experiential civic engagement and learn about the democratic process. Youth will discuss and debate issues that affect citizens of New York State and will get a chance to attend the state conference with youth from across New York.

    The Southampton Youth Bureau’s Youth & Government program is held on Wednesdays from October to April in a hybrid format. Official October start date TBA soon! For more information, please call (631) 702-2425 or Councilman Tommy John Schiavoni at (631) 287-5745.

  2. Gingerbread Showcase

    The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau and Parks and Recreation department will be sponsoring a Gingerbread Showcase on Instagram! To share and enter: 1) Follow @southamptonyb and @southamptonparksrec on Instagram, 2) Upload a picture of your gingerbread creation and use the hashtag #SHTownGinerbreadShowcase in your entry post, and 3) Tag @southamptonyb and @southamptonparksrec in your entry post with a brief description. Entry deadline is Friday, December 18th. Showcase is open to Southampton Town residents in grades K – 12 and all participants will be entered into a gift card and gift basket raffle!   3. Positive Poster Campaign

    Let’s spread some positivity in our community! The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will be sponsoring a Positive Poster Campaign to show support to others with a positive message. Posters will be displayed throughout our community in participating local businesses and public locations. Campaign is open to grades 5 – 12 and all participants will be entered in a gift card raffle! Entries are due by Friday, December 18th and can be dropped off to: Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road or Southampton Town Hall - Citizens’ Response Center, 116 Hampton Road.     The Southampton Youth Bureau's Chess Club is held on Wednesdays (November 4th – December 16th) from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. Students are taught to challenge themselves, build self-confidence, meet new friends, reduce stress, and learn strategy & discipline through the game of Chess. This program is free and open to grades K - 8.
