Biography

Scott Horowitz of East Quogue was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonality of the Town of Southampton on January 6, 2014.


Scott M. Horowitz started his employment with Southampton Town as a part-time bay constable. Scott graduated Southampton College with a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Studies and is a graduate of the Suffolk County Police Academy. Scott has been protecting our waters and wetlands as a member of the Southampton Town Conservation Board prior to being elected as Trustee.


Scott is also a licensed United States Coast Guard captain and has thousands of hours of documented sea time. Scott has been active in the preservation of maritime heritage as the founder of the Hamptons Offshore Invitational Fishing Tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. Scott is very active in our community and serves on many boards. Scott was the president of Shinnecock Marlin and Tuna Club for a decade and is an avid fisherman and boater.
