Joseph McLoughlin of Southampton Village was sworn into the Board of Trustees of the Freeholders and Commonalty of the Town of Southampton on January 3, 2024.

As a lifelong resident of Southampton, Joseph has been involved in many other endeavors. From 2020-2022 Joseph served on the Southampton Village Board of Trustees and was able to work on Lake Agawam as well as several other water quality initiatives and access issues with the Town Trustees. Before elected to office in the Village, he served on the village Planning Commission from 2017-2020 and was awarded the “Intrepid Citizen” award for his hard work with regard to planning and zoning within the Village. During this time, Joseph developed the knowledge of local government and what it means to be a public servant working on issues of water quality and sustainability.

Joseph attended Iona College where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Communications. He is a member in good standing of Bull Head Yacht Club, where his family has had a membership for over four decades. He also is a Kentucky Colonel and account executive with Coleman-Hudson; a business that focuses on green renewables.
